Project Details

CE Group, a leading electrical contractor in PNG, is proud to have been part of the iconic APEC Haus project. This landmark building was designed to showcase Papua New Guinea during the APEC Conference, with its design inspired by the Lakatoi Sail of the Motu-Koita culture. Additionally, the structure was purpose-built to serve the people of Papua New Guinea long term. Once the conference concluded, the building was handed over to the Tourism Promotion Authority and will be converted into a museum.

Furthermore, CE Group’s scope of work for the project was extensive and included the supply, installation, and commissioning of various critical systems. These systems comprised power, lighting, backup generation, CCTV, security, access control, communications, IT networks, and exterior feature lighting. Each of these elements was carefully planned and executed, ensuring seamless functionality both during the conference and in its future use as a museum.

Moreover, the project was successfully completed in just 10 months, which was an impressive achievement given the complexity and scope of work. A combination of expatriate and local labor was utilized, with a strong focus on skill transfer to local workers. As a result, unskilled employees not only contributed to the project but also gained valuable expertise. In addition, these newly acquired skills were formally recognized, creating lasting benefits for the local community.

Overall, this project stands as a symbol of PNG’s rich cultural heritage. CE Group’s involvement in delivering such a significant building leaves behind an enduring legacy for the nation. The successful completion of APEC Haus highlights CE Group’s expertise as an electrical contractor in PNG, further emphasizing our commitment to safety, quality, and the development of local talent.
