BEHIND THE PROJECT | Rino Recycling Resource Recovery Facility

Powering the infrastructure behind resource recovery

What does it take to transform construction and demolition waste into materials that can be used again?

At Rino Recycling’s Pinkenba facility in Brisbane, advanced processing technology, automated materials handling and electrical infrastructure come together within a large-scale resource recovery operation.

The facility is capable of processing up to 475 tonnes of material per hour, integrating wet and dry processing technologies to recover valuable materials from construction and demolition waste.

From construction waste to reusable resources

Construction and demolition waste contains materials that can be recovered, processed and returned to productive use.

The Pinkenba facility brings together specialist processing technologies, supported by an extensive network of conveyors and materials handling equipment.

Through the processing system, construction waste can be separated and transformed into recovered products including sand, aggregate, road base and fill -creating another pathway for materials that may otherwise be sent to landfill.

Electrical infrastructure behind the process

CE Group delivered electrical works supporting specialist recycling and processing infrastructure within the facility.

Working across an interconnected industrial environment required electrical delivery to align with processing equipment, conveyors, materials handling systems and the broader plant infrastructure.

Projects of this nature demonstrate the importance of electrical capability within modern industrial processing. Individual pieces of equipment form part of a much larger system, with electrical infrastructure helping connect the technologies required to move, separate and process material throughout the facility.

Supporting the next generation of industrial infrastructure

Resource recovery is becoming an increasingly important part of Australia’s infrastructure landscape as the construction industry looks for practical ways to recover materials and reduce its reliance on virgin resources.

Facilities such as Rino Recycling demonstrate the scale and sophistication now being applied to this sector – combining specialist processing technology, automation and industrial infrastructure within a single operation.

For CE Group, the project demonstrates capability across industrial electrical works, materials handling and complex processing environments, supporting the infrastructure required to turn resource recovery technology into an operational facility.
