Capalaba WTP Sludge MCC Replacement
Capalaba, Queensland

Project Details

This project involved the design and construction of a new Motor Control Centre (MCC) for the Sludge Treatment Plant at the Capalaba Water Treatment Plant. As part of the project, CE Group also supplied and installed a new switchroom demountable building to house the MCC. Additionally, a complete upgrade of all cabling and accessories was carried out to meet the client’s updated standards.

CE Group, as a highly experienced electrical water infrastructure contractor, ensured that all works were completed to the highest quality. The new MCC and switchroom provide flexibility in design, allowing for future expansions of both the water treatment and sludge treatment plants. This flexibility is critical, as the future expansion will play a significant role in securing the water supply for South-East Queensland.

One of the key challenges faced during this project was the smooth transition from the existing sludge plant to the new MCC. This complex change-over had to be executed with minimal disruption to the plant’s operations.

Fortunately, this was carefully coordinated to occur during the low-demand season for South-East Queensland’s water supply. Despite the challenge, CE Group successfully managed the transition, ensuring the continued operation of the treatment plant.

The project’s success underscores CE Group’s expertise as a trusted electrical water infrastructure contractor. Their ability to deliver flexible, future-proof solutions while maintaining operational continuity highlights their commitment to client satisfaction.
