Project Details

CE Group, an electrical water infrastructure contractor undertook this project as principal contractor for both the design and construction works. Central to the project was the requirement to upgrade the plant’s control systems, transforming various stand-alone elements, some of which were manually operated, into an automated PLC/SCADA solution. As a leading electrical water infrastructure contractor, CE Group was well-equipped to handle the complexity of this task.

To ensure successful execution, CE Group partnered with experienced companies to handle process, hydraulic design consultancy, and mechanical design, manufacture, and commissioning. As part of the project’s scope, CE Group successfully removed the old Aeration Tower and replaced the existing asbestos water main, which included dosing injection points. Additionally, the project involved the addition of Caustic, Alum, and Chlorine Gas chemical dosing systems, along with automatic DN150 Filters Backwash Valving and sequencing. All these upgrades were implemented alongside the comprehensive control system upgrade.

Throughout the project, CE Group operated under its accredited HSEQ system, providing close oversight to ensure the delivery of a safe, environmentally friendly, and quality-driven system. This structured approach emphasized safety and environmental sustainability at every step.

CE Group also managed all electrical aspects, including the integration of the new equipment into Seqwater’s network SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system. This system allowed full control of the equipment, redundancy features, remote access, diagnostics, reporting, and data trending via a historian.

The successful delivery of this project highlights CE Group’s extensive experience in the industrial electrical market. This project, in particular, reinforces CE Group’s capabilities as an electrical water infrastructure contractor, especially within the water and wastewater industry.
